Babcock University has expelled student Oladipupo Siwajuola after he was found guilty of drug peddling, engaging in occult practices, impersonation, unauthorized campus exit, and financial misconduct.

Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo, Ogun State, has officially expelled a student, Oladipupo Siwajuola, following multiple allegations including drug trafficking, use of fetish substances, and other serious misconduct.
The disciplinary action followed a public outcry by the student’s mother, who declared him missing on social media on May 3 and accused the university of negligence. In response, the institution provided a comprehensive explanation of the events leading to the student’s dismissal.
According to Dr. Joshua Suleiman, Director of Marketing and Communications, Oladipupo left campus without authorization on April 28. He was returned by his father on May 15, after which he was invited to explain his actions to the university’s Security Services Department.
Oladipupo admitted—both in a written statement and before the disciplinary committee—that he had disguised himself in a hoodie to leave campus through the university teaching hospital gate and stayed at a friend’s house.
The investigation uncovered the following offenses:
- Purchase and use of fetish substances from a traditional herbalist, costing nearly ₦100,000, as part of “Yahoo Plus” rituals aimed at quick wealth
- Drug peddling on campus
- Impersonation of another student using their National Identification Number to open a bank account
- Unauthorized sale of his mobile phone, falsely claiming his father’s consent
- Securing a ₦500,000 online loan to fund gambling activities
“These actions are not only in violation of our student code of conduct but also deeply conflict with the values we uphold as a faith-based institution,” Dr. Suleiman stated.
Citing its commitment to student safety and moral discipline, the university expelled Oladipupo with immediate effect. He has the right to appeal the decision, as outlined in the student handbook.
“We understand the emotional impact of this outcome on the family,” Suleiman said. “However, our foremost responsibility remains ensuring a safe and ethically sound environment for all our students.”
The university concluded by reaffirming its dedication to academic excellence, character development, and parental collaboration in fostering student responsibility.
