Bells University expelled a male student for assaulting a female colleague over a personal dispute, sparking widespread outrage and calls for stricter campus safety measures.

Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, has expelled a male student identified as Tony after he physically assaulted a female colleague over personal relationship issues.
According to reports circulating on social media, the incident occurred on March 10, 2025, when the victim, referred to as “Girl X,” was violently attacked by Tony on the university’s football field. Witnesses stated that the attack left her bleeding heavily, causing significant blood loss.
The assault allegedly stemmed from a video the victim had sent to Tony’s girlfriend a month earlier, which showed him walking with her. Believing the video had caused problems in his relationship, Tony confronted the victim and brutally attacked her, shouting at her to apologize. He also recorded a video of her in distress, captioning it, “Other girls will learn from this,” while threatening further violence.
The incident sparked widespread outrage after it was shared on social media, with many calling for justice. In response, Bells University took swift action by expelling Tony for his actions. A statement from the school confirmed that he had been found guilty of physical assault and that such behavior would not be tolerated on campus.
Social media users have praised the university’s decision, emphasizing the need for accountability and justice for the victim. Many have also condemned the culture of violence against women and called for stricter measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
