Brilliant Lady Overcomes Multiple Failures to Graduate as a Pharmacist

Johnnel Markland, a determined and brilliant woman, has triumphantly graduated as a pharmacist after overcoming four attempts at medical school examinations.

Markland earned her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University’s College of Pharmacy.

Sharing her journey in a Facebook post by Melanie Doc, she reflected on her delayed yet successful accomplishment.

Despite matriculating through pharmacy school without failing a class and graduating magna cum laude, Markland faced significant challenges.

“I gracefully and seemingly effortlessly matriculated through pharmacy school, never failed a class, and graduated magna cum laude. But before it was all over, God humbled me and reminded me that He was the one who brought me this far,” she shared.

Markland announced that she had finally passed her exit exam with an impressive score of 82%, after failing to achieve the required 75% on four previous attempts.

During these challenging times, she doubted herself, as she had never failed a test before. However, with hard work, faith in God, integrity, and resilience, she eventually succeeded.

“I started doubting myself because I had never failed a test before, but with my faith in God, consistent integrity, and resilience, I can finally say, ‘We did it.’ I am officially Dr. Johnnel Markland,” she concluded.
