Joshua Adeyeye, a first-class Law graduate from the University of Lagos with a 4.62 CGPA, distinguished himself as an academic leader, award-winning scholar, and versatile achiever through exceptional academic performance, leadership roles, prestigious awards, professional internships, and dedicated community service.


A talented Nigerian student, Joshua Adeyeye, has graduated from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) with a first-class Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, achieving an outstanding cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.62. His exceptional academic performance earned him the title of Best Graduating Male Student in the Department of Law and the honor of being the Second Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Law.
Joshua’s accomplishments extend beyond academics. He served as the 54th President of the Law Students’ Society (LSS) during the 2023/2024 academic session, following his tenure as Academic Secretary in the 2022/2023 session. Additionally, he contributed as the Chief Operating Officer of the Forum for Emerging Technology and as a member of the Student Advisory Board at the Hon. Justice Innocent Umezulike Foundation.
Joshua’s brilliance in academics earned him six major awards, including:
• Dr. Teslim Elias Prize
• Prof. Imran Oluwole Smith Prize
• Late Prof. Jelili Omotola Prize
These were all in recognition of his stellar performance in Land Law. He also received the Hon. Justice Innocent Umezulike Foundation Prize for Best in Land/Property Law, accompanied by a ₦100,000 cash prize. In addition, he was honored with the Chris Ogunbanjo & Co Prize and the Babs Mobolaji Prize for his exceptional achievements in Company Law.
Joshua gained practical legal experience through internships at top law firms, including:

• Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie
• G. Elias and ALN Nigeria | Aluko & Oyebode
He also excelled in various competitions, winning the National Data Protection Moot Competition hosted by Meta and the SAA National Moot and Debate Competition hosted by the Student Advocates’ Association (SAA-LASU). Additionally, he emerged as a 1st Runner-Up in the TRUSTED ADVISORS Moot and Mock Trial at the Nigerian Law School.
Joshua was a top-three finalist in several essay competitions organized by the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF), J.O. Fabunmi & Co., and other notable organizations. He also dedicated himself to service, participating in 15 volunteering activities, including mentoring, essay judging, and conducting tutorials for law students.
Joshua expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Faculty of Law at UNILAG, the Distinguished Dean, the immediate past Dean, and his academic supervisor for their guidance and support throughout his journey.
