A remarkable Nigerian woman, Esther Nwankwo, has achieved outstanding academic success by earning a master’s degree with distinction from the University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom.
This accomplishment follows her receiving a full scholarship after completing her bachelor’s degree.
Esther graduated with a first-class degree in Accounting from the University of Nigeria, Enugu, where she was the top student in her faculty and department.
Her exceptional performance earned her the prestigious Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) scholarship, which supports postgraduate studies in fields relevant to the oil and gas industry.
With the PTDF scholarship, Esther pursued a master’s degree in Finance at the University of Strathclyde.
The PTDF Scholarship, provided by a Federal Government agency, aims to develop indigenous human capacity and petroleum technology expertise to meet the industry’s needs. More information about the scholarship application process can be found HERE.
Sharing her achievement on LinkedIn, Esther expressed gratitude to the Nigerian government for the scholarship and revealed that she had earned her master’s degree with distinction.
She also reflected on her initial expectations versus the reality of studying in the UK, acknowledging the challenging academic environment she encountered.
Esther dedicated her degree to her parents, who dreamed of attending college but never had the chance, and to other fearless girls from humble backgrounds, encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
During her undergraduate studies, Esther supported herself through various menial jobs. Now, she is looking forward to making a significant impact in the field of sustainable investing.
