CURSORY :Undercover journalist who received certificate from a fake university says the degree was delivered like pizza.

Umar Audu, an undercover journalist said he received his Cotonou university certificate like a pizza delivery after he paid certain amount of money for the degree.
This was stated during an interview on channels television by Audu, the undercover reporter who works with daily Nigerian newspaper.
According to him; “This certificate will be delivered to you just like you ordered for a pizza or something and you give them your location, and it is delivered to you. That was what motivated me to conduct this investigation.
”We have done a similar investigation in the past in 2018, which led to the government taking certain decisions. These things keep going on despite pronouncements by the Federal Government,” Audu added.
The undercover reporter was also given the transcript and certificate which bore the school’s authentic scan code, ‘Ecole Superieure de Gestion et de Technologies, ESGT, Benin Republic’, and the degree came at cheap a price.
The investigation he carried out forced the federal government to suspend the accreditation and acceptance of certificate degree from those schools.
His article exposed the fake booming university in some African countries like Benin Republic and Togo whose specialty is selling of degree certificate to individuals from Nigeria who are willing to pay for it.
Speaking on the investigation, Audu said, “I never travelled out of Nigeria during this investigation.”
From the fake certificate given to Audu, it was seen that he started his degree program in 2018, and graduated after 4 years, in 2022.
He was also able to use the certificate to go for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, without getting caught .
