The Plateau State Government plans to shut down schools involved in examination malpractices, emphasizing that such actions harm educational standards and students’ futures.

The Plateau State Government has announced its intention to shut down any schools found engaging in examination malpractices. This was revealed by the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mr. Mohammed Nyalun, during the Speech and Prize/Graduation ceremony at the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Staff School in Jos on Saturday.
Represented by Mr. Dalyop Pam from the Jos South Area Education Directorate, Nyalun emphasized that examination malpractices contribute to the decline in educational standards and will not be tolerated. He stated that schools engaging in such practices are not only cheating those that follow proper procedures but are also damaging the futures of their students.
Nyalun urged parents not to encourage their children to participate in such dishonest acts, as students will ultimately be unable to defend the results they obtained dishonestly. He commended ITF Staff School for its excellence in both education and character development, stressing that any school found guilty of malpractice will face closure.
Mr. Yahaya Musa, Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of ITF Staff School, expressed his gratitude to the school’s management team for their dedication to creating an outstanding educational environment. He praised the school’s efforts in shaping the lives of students and preparing them to become responsible citizens.
Musa also commended the teachers for their unwavering commitment to the intellectual and personal growth of the students. He highlighted the importance of education in fostering creativity, instilling values, and building strong character.
The school’s head boy, Master Joshua Adam, expressed his appreciation for the school’s role in shaping their character and preparing them for future educational challenges. Similarly, the head girl, Miss Rahama Musa, stated that the knowledge and experience gained at ITF Staff School will stay with them throughout their lives.
