Determined Nigerian Man Overcomes 10 Rejections to Become the World’s First Quadruple Amputee Pilot

Zachary Anglin, a Nigerian man born without hands and feet, overcame multiple rejections and significant challenges while training to become the world’s first quadruple amputee commercial pilot.

Zachary Anglin, a determined Nigerian man, has made history by becoming the world’s first-ever quadruple amputee commercial pilot, despite facing numerous rejections. Born without hands and feet and raised in Liberia, Zachary defied tremendous odds to fulfill his lifelong dream.

Growing up alongside 18 siblings, Zachary quickly adapted to his surroundings despite his condition. Reflecting on his childhood, he shared, “My mom told me I didn’t realize I was missing my hands and feet until I was about eight years old because I had to keep up with my siblings in everything we did.”

Inspired by his mother’s love for travel and his father’s passion for airplanes, Zachary always dreamed of becoming a pilot. When he expressed this ambition during his senior year of high school, many people discouraged him, suggesting he pursue a less demanding career. However, Zachary remained undeterred.

After high school, he applied to five flight schools and was accepted by one in Oklahoma. In 2018, he moved there to begin his training, facing significant challenges along the way.
