The Governing Council of Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe, dismissed four senior officers over alleged gross misconduct. Those affected are Registrar Alhaji Umar Bello, College Librarian Yusuf Aliyu, Director of Works Muhammad Malam, and Ibrahim Shehu, internal council member.
The decision was reached at the council’s 7th meeting on January 31, 2026, in Abuja. Dismissals followed earlier suspensions and findings of investigative panels set up by the Federal Ministry of Education and the Governing Council.
The council cited “various counts of gross misconduct” as reasons. Acting Director, Public Relations, Dahiru Gurama, stated the action upholds accountability and due process.
Meanwhile, Mallam Haruna N. Ayuba, senior Deputy Registrar, was appointed Acting Registrar to ensure continuity. College Provost Professor Ali Adamu reaffirmed commitment to transparency, discipline, and institutional integrity.
The dismissals reflect the college’s commitment to federal regulations governing tertiary institutions. No further details on specific misconduct allegations were provided.
