Ebonyi govt has revealed that they are ready to establish Aeronautics and ICT Universities in the state.


This was disclosed by the commissioner for education, Sunday Nwangene after the state executive council meeting on Tuesday in the state capital, Abakaliki.
He hinted that the universities shall be called Aeronautics University and University of ICT and Science/Technology.
The essence of the new institutions is to increase the development in education and socio- economic activities of the people.
This is coming at a time when the nation is beginning to manufacture airplanes. The establishment of these universities would be of importance in actualizing or strengthening the actualization of this goal.
Speaking more about then intended institutions, Nwagene said:
“The two schools have been approved today, Tuesday, by the state government and they are to be located at Ezza-South and Izzi Local Governments respectively.
“These are special universities that have the possibility of attracting investors and boost the state education and the economy.
“They will be driven by public/private ownership and the schools will help in building the manpower of our young people in Science and Technology,”
