Dr. Akingbola Adewunmi, a Nigerian physician, earned an MPhil in Population Health Sciences from Cambridge University, where he received five awards for his achievements in academics, research, and community impact.


Dr. Akingbola Adewunmi, a distinguished Nigerian physician, completed his Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Population Health Sciences, specializing in Infectious Diseases, at Cambridge University, UK, where he received five prestigious awards, including the 2024 Passion in Science Award by New England BioLabs for his humanitarian contributions.
Supported by the Cambridge Trust Scholarship, Adewunmi thrived academically and participated in significant research, earning recognitions such as runner-up in the Cambridge Mastercard Foundation Entrepreneurship Competition and the Global Research Program Award by DDRx London.
He actively contributed to the Cambridge community, achieving 13 peer-reviewed publications and serving as Programs and Publicity Manager for the Cambridge University Nigerian Society, while also co-hosting the Cambridge Africa Together conference.
Reflecting on his journey, Adewunmi shared on Instagram how his experience at Cambridge, despite its challenges, has been transformative, crediting his achievements to resilience and his vision for social impact.
