Ondo’s Best WASSCE Student Wins N2.5m Scholarship

Cursory: Biodun Omoniyi, the Group Managing Director of VDT Communications Limited, awarded a N2.5 million scholarship to Joy Omoyeni, the top-performing student in Ondo State in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Joy Omoyeni also secured the top position in the post-UTME at Covenant University and an internship opportunity with VDT for further training.

Biodun Omoniyi, the Group Managing Director of VDT Communications Limited, has awarded a scholarship worth N2.5 million to the highest-performing student in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Ondo State, Joy Omoyeni.

According to a statement from VDT Communication, Joy Omoyeni achieved the top WASSCE result and was also the valedictorian at Telnet International School in Akure, Ondo State.

She earned a perfect A1 grade in all nine subjects in the WASSCE, scored an impressive 338 in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam, and achieved a stellar 1400 in the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

It read: “In recognition of her outstanding achievements, VDT Communications presents Omoyeni a prestigious cash scholarship of up to N2.5m for her undergraduate journey.”

During the presentation of the scholarship award at the VDT Headquarters in Lagos, Biodun Omoniyi emphasized that VDT is not only dedicated to providing excellent communication services but also takes pride in recognizing exceptional achievements and is firmly committed to Corporate Social Responsibility and contributing to the community.

He further highlighted Joy Omoyeni’s continued outstanding performance, mentioning that she secured “the top spot at Telnet International School, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, in the post-UTME at Covenant University, scores an impressive 58 out of 60 for Computer Engineering.

“She has also secured a coveted spot for preferential internship training with VDT when the time comes.”
