A final-year student from Obafemi Awolowo University has left netizens in awe by donning a costume inspired by her Nigerian mother for FYB week.
In many Nigerian universities, it’s customary for final-year students to celebrate FYB (Final Year Brethren) week by wearing costumes that mimic actors and cartoon characters. This celebration culminates in FYB costume day, just before their Signing Out day marking the completion of their final exams.
Sharing on Twitter (X), the student, known as @Inioluwa, posted heartwarming photos of herself dressed in an outfit inspired by her mother for the first day of FYB week.
The law student explained that her costume, which featured an undergarment, an Ankara wrapper, a head net, and a chewing stick in her mouth, was a tribute to her mom’s style.
Her bold and unique outfit has garnered much attention, with many praising her for her courage in portraying her Nigerian heritage on campus without any hesitation.
