Five students from three schools have been crowned winners at the two-day Creative Talent Incubator Programme, a Financial Aid and Arts initiative for primary school students organized by Ark Zero Five Foundation in Lagos.
The event, which brought together over 40 students from seven schools within the Ejigbo Model School Complex, featured interactive workshops, mentorship sessions, competitions, exhibitions, and hands-on art creation. Facilitated by seasoned creative professionals and art teachers, the programme aimed to teach essential drawing techniques and foster artistic growth among the participants.
The five winning students were awarded cash prizes ranging from ₦30,000 to ₦20,000, along with art starter packs to support their creative development.
Schools represented at the event included:
• Imakiyo Primary School
• Ejigbo Model Primary School
• Fadu Memorial Primary School
• Oba Muruf Primary School
• Adegboyega Nursery and Primary School
Speaking at the event, Olajide Olukayode Babalola, a member of Ark Zero Five Foundation, highlighted the importance of nurturing young talents to empower children and youth to overcome societal challenges.
“We are a non-profit NGO driven by a dream to create a better environment and industry for our youths. This programme is part of a broader effort to support children and youths, helping them harness their talents as a viable means of social action,” Babalola said.
He emphasized the foundation’s commitment to follow through on nurturing the students’ talents, ensuring that the initiative is not a one-time event but part of a sustained process of growth and empowerment.
“Our goal is to create a foundation for these children to stand on. They may not have wealth or access to resources now, but through initiatives like this, they can realize their potential and achieve their dreams,” he added.
Mrs. R.M. Gbadamosi, Head of Social Mobilisation at Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, commended the organisers for empowering children and nurturing their creative abilities.
“Efforts toward empowering our children to become who God has designed them to be can never be overemphasized. Reaching out to children at the grassroots is highly commendable,” she said.
The Ark Zero Five Foundation expressed optimism about the future, revealing plans to expand its initiatives and continue empowering the next generation through similar programmes.
