Four lecturers at Federal University Lokoja have been dismissed for examination misconduct and sexual harassment following a thorough investigation, with the university emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for unethical behavior.

The Governing Council of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State, has approved the dismissal of four lecturers for involvement in examination misconduct and sexual harassment.
The decision was reached during the council’s second meeting held on Thursday. This follows a thorough investigation into allegations of misconduct leveled against the lecturers last year.
Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, who chairs the council, commended the university management for adhering to due process throughout the investigation. He emphasized that the institution would not tolerate any unethical behavior within its academic community.
“The council will not condone any form of unethical conduct in the university,” Ndoma-Egba stated, urging the university to expedite pending investigations, including a high-profile case in the Faculty of Science currently drawing media attention.
The council further cautioned staff and lecturers against any form of student molestation and assured that no act of misconduct would be overlooked. Students were also encouraged to report any incidents of harassment or abuse to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.
