DonnaJean Wilde, a 59-year-old Canadian grandmother, set a Guinness World Record by completing 1,575 pushups in an hour, showcasing remarkable determination and inspiring others to pursue fitness at any age.

DonnaJean Wilde, a 59-year-old grandmother from Canada, has achieved a remarkable feat by completing 1,575 pushups in 60 minutes, earning her a Guinness World Record for the most pushups in one hour in the female category.
This achievement comes just months after Wilde set another world record in March 2024 by holding a plank for an astounding 4 hours, 30 minutes, and 11 seconds. Wilde credits the intense training for her planking record as the foundation for her latest success, during which she developed a passion for pushups, incorporating 500 daily into her routine.

For her pushup record attempt, Wilde entered the challenge with exceptional fitness, described as having “abs and arms of steel” and a resilient mindset. She shattered the previous record with 17 minutes to spare and continued pushing to maximize her count. “I had to fight back the happy tears and emotions and keep going,” Wilde shared, noting that she felt strong even in the final minutes.
Wilde was cheered on by 11 of her 12 grandchildren, who supported her by counting her sets and offering words of encouragement. Despite a brief scare when her shoulder dislocated and popped back into place, she powered through with unwavering determination.
Starting with 620 pushups in the first 20 minutes, Wilde later alternated between smaller sets of pushups to maintain her stamina, ultimately achieving an average of 10 pushups per set by the end of the hour.
Reflecting on her achievement, Wilde emphasized the importance of staying active regardless of age. “I believe that if we stay active and have health and wellness goals, we can age gracefully and powerfully,” she said.
Her incredible achievement serves as an inspiration, proving that with determination and dedication, extraordinary goals can be reached at any stage of life.
