Denied university admission in Nigeria 12 years ago, Shuaib Ibrahim overcame the setback to earn first-class bachelor’s and master’s degrees, followed by a PhD at Sharda University, India, with partial scholarships recognizing his academic excellence.

Shuaib Ibrahim, a determined Nigerian scholar, has achieved exceptional academic success at Sharda University in India. Twelve years after being denied admission to a Nigerian university, Ibrahim earned first-class honors in both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, followed by a PhD.
His academic journey was supported by partial scholarships awarded in recognition of his excellence. His cousin, Mallam Mohammed Shuaib, shared Ibrahim’s inspiring story on X (formerly Twitter), detailing his progression from undergraduate to doctoral studies in India.
In 2013, after unsuccessful attempts to secure university admission in Nigeria, Mohammed discovered an advertisement for Sharda University in a newspaper while in India. Upon consulting the Nigerian High Commission in Delhi, he confirmed that the university accepted Nigerian students. Ibrahim met all admission requirements and was accepted into the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program, graduating with first-class honors.
His outstanding performance earned him a 50% tuition discount to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA), where he again graduated with first-class honors. Sharda University then awarded him another 50% scholarship for his PhD studies.
Dr. Ibrahim completed his PhD with a dissertation titled: “Digital Value Chain and Organizational Productivity: A Study of Selected Automobile Companies in Delhi NCR.” His research examined the impact of digital transformation on the efficiency and productivity of India’s automobile sector, offering valuable industry insights.
His academic advisor, Dr. Hari Shankar Shyam, expressed immense pride in Ibrahim’s achievements, highlighting his dedication and brilliance throughout his academic journey. Dr. Shyam praised Ibrahim’s intellectual curiosity and unwavering commitment to learning, expressing confidence in his future success.
