The Federal University Gusau, has appointed Hajiya Nafisa Barau Suleiman as the Acting Registrar of the University.
The appointment followed the approval by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the University, Rt. Hon. Engr. Aminu Sani Isa.
The appointment which was conveyed in a letter Ref: FUGUS/RO/APP/SP/ 181, dated 4th February 2025 and signed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. M.G. Abubakar, takes effect from 5th February 2025, pending the appointment of a substantive registrar.
The appointment was sequel to the completion of the tenure of Malam Yakubu Anivbassa who served as the second substantive Registrar of the University. The appointment letter reads in part “You are therefore to take over the affairs of the Registry Department from the out-going Registrar, Mal. Yakubu Anivbassa whose tenure ends today, Tuesday, 4th February 2025”.
Until her appointment as Acting Registrar, Hajiya Nafisa Barau Suleiman was Deputy Registrar in the office of the Vice Chancellor, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and related activities of the office. She had served as the Faculty Officer, Faculty of Humanities and Education from 2018 to 2021, prior to the splitting of the faculty into two. Hajiya Nafisa Suleiman is a representative of the University Convocation in the current Governing Council.
