Gombe State University’s ASUU has ended its strike following an agreement with the state government, which approved N947 million to address staff demands, with academic activities set to resume soon.


The Gombe State Government and the university’s branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have reached an agreement to end the strike that began on September 11, 2024, halting academic activities.
Following a series of meetings, the state’s executive council, led by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, approved N947 million to address staff promotions and earned academic allowances (EAA).
With preparations underway, academic activities are expected to resume soon.
Deputy Governor Manassah Jatau, speaking on behalf of the governor, expressed optimism that the agreement would ensure smooth operations and uninterrupted learning at the university.
