HND II student laments school expenses, says she’d have married earlier

An HND II student went viral after lamenting spending ₦7.8 million on school expenses, saying the financial strain made her wish she had married earlier instead of continuing her education.

An HND II student sparked reactions online, frustrated by her education’s financial demands. In a viral video, she complained about rising costs, describing them as overwhelming. “If I knew HND was this hard, I’d have married before schooling,” she said.

She spent ₦7.8 million since starting, citing constant bills and payments. “Everywhere bill bill bill. N7.8 million wey I carry come this school don finish because of pay pay,” she lamented. Her comments highlight students’ financial struggles.

The student plans to move straight to her husband’s house post-graduation, avoiding rent. “After I Comot from this HND II, na straight to husband house. I no dey rent any house.” Some netizens sympathized, others questioned prioritizing marriage over education.

Her video drew debates on social media. Some argued education costs are unsustainable, pushing students to consider alternatives. Others suggested government intervention or scholarships.

The student’s candidness resonated. Many Nigerian students face similar struggles, balancing finances and aspirations. Her story sparks conversations on affordable education.
