A Nigerian woman admitted she ghosted and blocked her Nigerian boyfriend who sold his assets to fund her UK Master’s degree after she got pregnant for another man abroad, sparking outrage over betrayal, accountability, and the cost of dishonesty.

A Nigerian woman has sparked widespread outrage after sharing how she ghosted her boyfriend who funded her Master’s degree in the UK, only to get pregnant for another man. The woman admitted that her boyfriend sold his car, land, and emptied his savings to fund her education and relocation, with hopes of joining her later.
According to her, life in the UK was a harsh reality check, feeling cold, lonely, and difficult. She met another man, a UK citizen with a house and proper documents, who offered her stability. “What started as late-night study sessions turned into moving in together to save rent,” she wrote.
Six months later, she became pregnant for the UK-based man and cut off all communication with her Nigerian boyfriend, blocking him everywhere. “I ghosted my boyfriend in Nigeria. I blocked him everywhere,” she stated. Her ex-boyfriend is reportedly struggling to repay loans taken to cover her flight ticket.
The post has sparked intense reactions, with many criticizing her actions. Kas wrote, “This isn’t ‘life happened,’ it’s a choice with real consequences. You found stability, but someone else paid the price.” Omotayo added, “You don’t start a new life while breaking others, pay him back what you owe”.
