Ojo Akinola Iyanu, a suspected cultist was apprehended on the 26th of October 2021 by officers of Ogun State police command while reportedly trying to obstruct a school examination going on at Ogun State Institute of Technology Igbesa in Ado odo ota local government.


DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson of the state police command made a statement explaining the suspect was apprehended following a viable observation gathered by the police that some students have established plans to obstruct the school examination which was reorganized after the resolution of crisis between the school management and the students.
Upon intelligence, the DPO in conjunction with other security agencies such as NSDC, so safe Corps, and the polytechnic security department has come together and decided to properly check all the students before coming to the examination hall right from the main gate.
While the screening was taking place, the suspect and one other who was verified as “Aloma” was impeded with a black bag. In the process of searching the bag, the second boy ran off while Akinola was apprehended immediately
In the bag, they found a local pistol loaded with a live cartridge.
On interrogation, he revealed that he is a member of the dreaded “AYE” confraternity.
He also said the reason he and his group decided to disrupt the examination was that “the examination came suddenly”.
DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi also revealed that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has given an order that the instant transfer of the suspect to State criminal investigation and intelligence department for strict investigation.
He also ordered that the other cults members should be hunted for and must face justice.
