JAMB 2024: Tell Your Parents to Avoid This Or They'll Get Arrested

Parents and Guardians of 2024 JAMB Candidates are not allowed to do this!!!!!

The Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned parents and guardians that if they are seen near any JAMB Registration Centers, they will be sanctioned (i.e, arrested).

This was disclosed in the board’s weekly bulletin, released on Monday 22nd Januray.

According to the board, PARENTS and GUARDIANS should stay away from any JAMB Registration Center.

The bulletin partly reads: “The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned parents and guardians to stay away from its various registration centres as well as avoid any act capable of jeopardising the registration exercise.

“The warning came on the heels of a woman, a graduate of Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, who was caught at one of the Board’s Professional Registration Centre(PRC), while attempting to procure a registration e-PIN for her brother, an act that ran contrary to the series of advisories on interference by third-parties in matters relating to candidates with the Board.

“In her explanation, the culprit explained that she decided to purchase the e-PIN on behalf of her brother, who was in Kaduna, and as she was available in Abuja, she had planned to enable him to procure the e-PIN for him to conclude the registration, when he returned to Abuja.

“The Board viewed this act as a gross violation of the ethics of the registration exercise as it was capable of compromising the integrity of the process.

“The Board for the umpteenth time wishes to reiterate that guardians and parents are prohibited from coming to the venues of registration and examination centres, hence, it would not hesitate to sanction any individual or groups that act contrarily.”

Takeaway: On no account should a parent or guardian go to a JAMB Registration Center. The only legal person permitted to go to JAMB Registration center is the candidate who will be writing the exam.

Don’t Extort Our Candidates, JAMB Warns CBT Centers

The Ekiti State JAMB Coordinator, Mr. Hassan Lawal, has warned Computer Based Test (CBT) Operators to make sure that don’t extort any JAMB Candidate.

Mr. Lawal said this during an interview with CBT centers owners.

According to him, the UTME Registration exercise is NOT a money-making venture.

He also warned them to stay away from accommodating prospective candidates in their premises, conducting half-way or double registration, as well as mismatch of candidates’ data which could jeopardise their future academic endeavours.

You can’t correct these things after Registration

In a similar news, JAMB has warned candidates with NIN issues like incorrect names, date of birth, state of origin, etc, that they should NOT register for JAMB until they have corrected the issue.

According to JAMB, that’s because after registration these mistakes can’t be corrected.

Other things that can’t be corrected are: Email Address, Phone Number, and Local Government Area.
