JAMB UTME Registration Simplified: Follow These 3 or 5 Steps to Get Started.

It is official. The 2025 JAMB UTME Registration is now on sale. This means the 2025 JAMB Form is out today 3rd February 2025.
Candidates who are 16 years and above can now register for the exam. 15years-old candidates can also apply if they will be 16 by September 30th.
Candidates less than 16 years by 30th September can still apply but they must be what JAMB called exceptional students. Such candidates must score a minimum of 80% in their JAMB Exam, PUTME, and SSCE exams.
It’s also important to note that all candidates must have their NIN for them to be able to register for the JAMB UTME.
That said, here are the three simple steps to register for JAMB.
How to Register for JAMB In Just Three Steps
Step 1: Profile Creation:
- Send an SMS with the format: NIN 12345678901 to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number to be registered with JAMB.
- A 10-character Profile Code will be received on the same number.
Step 2: ePIN Purchase:
- Present the Profile Code at approved sales outlets (banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners).
- Make a payment of N7,200 (without mock) or N8,200 (with mock).
Step 3: Registration at CBT Centers:
- Visit any JAMB-accredited CBT center with the ePIN.
- Provide personal details, choice of institutions and programs, and upload O’Level results.
- Biometric capture and a live photograph will be taken.
That’s it, very simple!
Having said that, here are other things to have in mind:
- Use a unique phone number for the registration process, as it will be linked to all JAMB-related activities.
- Ensure the accuracy of personal information, as corrections may not be possible after submission.
- Keep the Profile Code and ePIN confidential to prevent unauthorized access.
Mock Examination:
An optional mock exam is available for interested candidates. The mock exam will be held on 5th April.
You didn’t get the steps above? Here’s a more detailed step.
How to Register JAMB Exam In 5 Steps
- Having a NIN: Before now, having a National Identification Number (NIN) wasn’t a prerequisite. However, with the new development, all candidates who are interested in sitting for JAMB examinations are expected to have a National Identification Number. If you don’t have one, you can visit the nearest enrollment centre to get your NIN or visit the website of the National Identification Management Commission (NIMC). Aside the NIN, you equally need to create an email specifically for the purpose of JAMB registration. Do not use an email that you’ve been using for other purposes, to be safe avoid using an email that you’ve created before and create a new one.
- Create JAMB Profile: creating your JAMB profile is the first official step to take when registering for JAMB. To do this send your National Identification Number (NIN) as a text to 55019 or 66019. Note that this service isn’t free and you will be charged accordingly. If the text is successful, you will be replied with a 10 digit number which you will need to complete your profile. You can also visit the JAMB website to create an e-facility profile.
- Getting a JAMB E-pin: After creating a profile with JAMB, you need to purchase a JAMB Electronic Pin also known as the E-pin. This E-pin can be gotten through various platforms such as JAMB accredited banks, any of the Nigerian Post Offices (NIPOST) online platforms such as quickteller or remita. This E-pin is your pass to fully registering for JAMB.
- Visit JAMB Accreditation Centre: the next step after obtaining the E-pin is to visit a JAMB Accredited centre, where you will fill the online JAMB form. This will include your biometric data such as passport photograph and your fingerprints. You will also be required to fill in your SSCE result, but there is an option for awaiting results, where students who are sure their SSCE result will be out before the time of admission can select. You would however need to go back at a later time to input this result.
- Selection of Examination Centre: JAMB has many accredited CBT centers across all the states of the federation. When registering for JAMB, you are given the liberty to select the area where you want to write your UTME. Ensure you select a place that will be convenient and not too far from your place of residence. After this, you can print out the filled registration form which will include all your details as inputted during the registration.
NOTE: it is very important to safeguard your form as it contains the details of the time and venue for your examinations. The slip will also include your subject combination which you are to write on the examination date.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, ensure you review your registration form at the CBT centre before sprinting as making changes after registration can cost you some money.
JAMB releases a novel each year that candidates are expected to read and answer questions on. This is given to you and can be gotten from the JAMB accredited centres.
Try to register on time to avoid being a victim. Usually the traffic on the JAMB site is only one the rise when it is close to the deadline for registration. Such traffic may result in panic which might make you make mistakes on your JAMB slip.
