The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) stated that it has transferred the sum of N3.51b to the national treasury as part of its 2021 operating surplus.

A statement signed by the Director of the News Board, Dr. Benjamin Fabian, stated that the remittances in 2021 were the result of the adoption of international best practices, which resulted in cost-effective operational processes.
He said the process used brought with it subsequent savings, which resulted in a large amount of remittances to the government treasury.
The statement said: “In the past six years since he remitted a huge amount of N7b in 2016 and repeated the same in subsequent years, remittances have been the norm rather than the exception.
One of the benefits is reflected in the reduction of the cost of application documents (UTME and DE) from N5000 to N3500 by Presidential candidates in 2018.
“He said that due to the sharp drop in the price of the UTME form, this single act ensures that more than N3b is transferred to the parents and guardians of the candidates every year.
The statement said: “The board of directors led by Professor Ishaq Oloyede will continue to cut governance costs. , And release resources for other countries in need in priority areas.”
