- (iv) UDU and MAIDUGURI accept ‘O’ Level passes in Mathematics and English Language.
- (v) DELSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credits which must include Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
- (vi) UYO requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics and Physics.
- (vii) GSU accepts D7 in Physics
- (viii) BENIN and ABSU accept ‘O’ Level pass in Physics
- (ix) IBADAN requires five (5) or six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) or two (2) sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any one (1) or two (2) of Physics, Geography and Agricultural Science.
- (x) KBSUST accepts Geography, Economics and Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology as the ‘O’ Level subjects.
- (xi) JABU accepts five (5)’ ‘O’ Level credit passes in relevant subjects plus ND and NCE. It also accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.
- (xii) OOU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- (xiii) MAKURDI and GOUU – Same as in Biochemistry.

- (xx) BSU for Plant Science and Biotechnology accepts passes in five (5) prescribed subjects in Preliminary Science of BSU in addition to the UTME requirements.
- (xxi) UNIKINGS – Same as in Microbiology.
- (xxi) CALABAR for Genetic and Biotechnology requires five ‘O’ Level (5) credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- (xxii) EUI requires five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- (xxiii) AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
- (xxiv) FED-DUTSE accepts English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Geography in SSC or its equivalent with minimum credit level in one or two sittings.
- (xxv) FUTA requires five (5) SSC credit passes or its equivalent at a maximum of two (2) sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- (xxvi) MOUNTAIN TOP requires five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at not more than two (2) sittings with credit in two (2) other relevant Science subjects; (Physics, Agricultural Science and Geography).
- (xxvii) FUTO requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology at not more than two (2) sittings.
- (xxviii) ILORIN accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
- (xxix) EKSU requires five (5) SSC Credit passes in not more than two sittings in English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry and one other subject.
- (xxx) LAGOS requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- (xxxi) FED-LOKOJA requires Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and any other Science subject.

- (xxxv) FED-LAFIA requires Five (5) Credit passes at SSCE, GCE, NECO and NABTEB O’ Level examination in Mathematics, English Language, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Chemistry and Physics in not more than two sittings.
- (xxxvi) FED-KASHERE requires Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- (xxxvii) FED-DUTSINMA accepts Five ‘O’ level Credits to include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any one of Physics, Geography, Health Science or Agric. Science. A pass in Physics will be accepted.
- (xxxviii) MAUTY accepts Five (5) SSC Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics/Geography/Economics. For Biotechnology MAUTY requires Five (5) SSC Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR PLANT SCIENCE AND BIOTECHNOLOGY
- (i) GSU, IBADAN, OAU and CALABAR require Chemistry.
- (ii) UDU, MAIDUGURI and RSU accept ND/HND in relevant programmes.
- (iii) RSU accepts ND/HND
- (v) AAUA and JOS accept ND upper credit in Forestry and HND pass in Forestry and other relevant programmes.
- (vi) AL-HIKMAH and PHC – No Direct Entry.
- (vii) UYO accepts ND upper credit/HND lower credit in relevant programmes plus the UTME requirements.
- (viii) LAGOS accepts Very good passes in the following three (3) JUPEB/’A’-level subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics.
- (ix) UMUDIKE accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology /Botany.
- (x) BENIN in addition to the UTME requirements accepts ND upper credit / HND lower credit in Food Technology or Science Laboratory Technology NCE credit in Biology/Chemistry.
- (xi) IGBINEDION accepts credit in Botany plus one (1) of Biology, Zoology or Chemistry. Also accepts ND/HND lower credit in Biology, Food Technology or Botany
- (xii) DELSU accepts NCE merit in Biology and any other two (2) subjects. Merit in DELSU Diploma in Biology Education may be considered.
- (xxvi) MAUTY accepts Two (2) A Level credit passes in Biology and Chemistry. NCE/ND/HND in relevant fields. for Biotechnology requires Two (2) A Level credit passes in Biology and Chemistry. NCE/ND/HND in relevant fields.
- (xiv) CALABAR requires ‘A’ Level passes / NCE merit or above in Biology and Chemistry plus ‘O’ Level credit pass in Physics or Mathematics.
- (xv) FED-LOKOJA accepts In addition to meeting the UTME Entry Requirements; Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes to include one (1) of Botany, Zoology, Biology or Chemistry; IJMB minimum of 8 points with passes in relevant subjects; NCE Credit pass in Chemistry and Biology; ND upper credit in Biological Science, Science Laboratory Technology or related programmes from a recognized institution; HND lower credit in relevant programmes from Accredited Tertiary Institutions; Degree (Third Class) relevant to the programme.
- (xvi) KBSUST same as in Agricultural Science
- (xvii) CRECSENT requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and either Physics or Chemistry and IJMB at acceptable grade levels.
- (xviii) FUTO requires; a) At least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes not below Grade C in Biology and either Physics or Chemistry. b) ND/HND at Upper Credit level in life sciences. c) First Degree in life sciences. d) Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects namely Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Mathematics. It does not accept NCE. Candidates must in addition meet the ‘O’ Level requirements.
- (xix) ILORIN accepts UTME qualifications plus a minimum of two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and Chemistry.
- (xx) UNIKINGS and BOWEN same as Microbiology. (xxi) UNN requires a) ‘A’ Level passes or its equivalent in Chemistry and Biology or Botany or Zoology in addition to the UTME requirements. b) NCE merit in Biology and Chemistry from a recognized institution, plus the university minimum entry requirements..
- (xxii) LASU accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Physics.
- (xxiii) OAU accepts two (2) `’A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Botany or Biology
- (xxiv) SALEM and PAUL accept ‘A’ Level passes in Biology/Zoology, Botany and Chemistry or any other equivalent examination.
- (xxv) OSUSTECH– same as in Fisheries.
- (xxvi) FED-OYE EKITI accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from Biology, Botany, Chemistry and any Physics or Mathematics.
- (xxvii) GOUU for Biotechnology requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology. ND/NCE with good grade relevant the ‘O’ Level subjects.
- (xxviii) KWASU – Same as in Mathematics.
- (xxix) MAKRUDI – Same as in Biochemistry.
- (xxx) IBADAN requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Botany, Chemistry or Botany / Biology.
- (xxxi) EBSU accepts HND, ND upper credit and NCE merit respectively in the relevant programmes.
- (xxxii) BAUCHI accepts IJMB/ ‘A’ Level Credit passes in Biology, Chemistry or its equivalent. ND HND lower credit in the following areas: Science Laboratory Technology, Wild Life and Forestry, Environmental Management Technology. The candidate must also have the five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
- (xxxiii) NILE accepts any two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in the Science subjects. Also accepts ND/HND lower credit or NCE merit in relevant subjects/programmes.
- (xxxiv) MCPHERSON accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in relevant subjects plus ND upper credit, HND lower credit in relevant programmes.
- (xxxv) MOUNTAIN TOP requires at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes with a minimum of two (2) relevant subjects (Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics and Physics) at GCE/IJMB ‘A’ Level or any approved equivalents in relevant Science subjects. Or Foundation/JUPEB obtained from Mountain Top University or other recognized Universities.
- (xxxvi) EUI accepts; a) Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology/Botany/Zoology and Chemistry or Physics. b) NCE/OND/HND with credit passes from a recognised institution in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements. c) A very good passes in JUPEB in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. d) IJMB passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
- (xxxvii) AAUA requires: a. two (2) ‘A’ Level subjects in Botany, Chemistry or Botany/Biology b. ND with a minimum of Upper credit in the relevant fields c. ND with minimum of upper credit in Biology/Agric, Botany/Plant science, Microbiology and Biochemistry
- (xxxviii) FED-DUTSE accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes (Graded A-D in GCE A level, NCE, IJMB or OND) at the ‘A’ Level in relevant subjects (Biology, Botany, Chemistry and Physics) with minimum 8 points. ND upper credit must be related discipline or area, Science Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology. Nursing Diploma at Pass level. ND Food Science & Technology, ND Health Technology lower credit may be considered where deemed appropriate step down to 100 level.
- (xxxix) EKSU accepts two (2) A Level passes in Biology/Botany/Zoology and Chemistry or Physics.
- (xl) KSUSTA accepts Two (2) A Level passes in Biology/Botany/Zoology and Chemistry or Physics.
- (xli) ABU accepts Two ‘A’ level /IJMB passes which must include Biology or Botany or Zoology and Chemistry in addition to O/L requirements.
- (xlii) PHC accepts Two (2) A/level GCE or HSC or IJMB or JUPEB passes in Biology and any one of Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics including UTME entry requirements.
- (xliii) FED-LAFIA accepts In addition to the UTME requirements, DE candidates must have any of the following: ND with at least Lower Credit or HND in Horticulture, Science Lab. Tech, Forestry, Crop Production or any relevant area; NCE: Merit in Biology, Integrated Science, Agric. Science or any relevant area; IJMB: Minimum of 9 points in Biology and any two of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. GCE: Advanced Level with at least 2 credit passes in Biology/Botany and any of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
- (xliv) FED-KASHERE accepts Three ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and any other two of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany and Geography OR Minimum of 9 points in IJMB, 9 points in NCE with credit pass in the subject of specialization OR at least a Lower Credit pass in relevant National Diploma.
- (xlv) FED-DUTSINMA accepts Two ‘A’ level passes in Botany/ Zoology/ Biology and Chemistry. ND/NCE with good grades in any relevant field.
- (xlvi) BAYERO accepts; a) Two ‘A’ level passes in Biology/Botany/Zoology and Chemistry or Physics. b) IJMB. c) NCE – Minimum of B grade in the relevant subject combination, minus education in all programmes in the faculty of Life Sciences
- (xlvii) FUTA requires; a) GCE ‘A’ Level or IJMB or JUBEP or Cambridge examinations passes in Biology/Botany/Zoology and Chemistry/Physics; or b) ND in any Natural, Agricultural or Life Science courses with a minimum of Upper Credit from a recognised institution.
