Below is the UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for Agricultural Science and Education;
- English Language(*), and Any three (3) subjects from Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Physics, Economics, Geography and Mathematics.
VIEW SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (WAIVER)
- (i) EDOMOK requires any three (3) subjects which must include Agricultural Science or Biology and Chemistry.
- (ii) DELSU requires Chemistry, Agricultural Science or Biology and any one of Physics, Economics.
- (iii) RSU requires Mathematics and any other two (2) subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Technical Drawings and Geography.
- (iv) BAUCHI requires Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and any other subject.
- (v) EDASAB requires Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture Science and Economics/Geography.
- (vi) MAKURDI requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- (vii) BENIN requires Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture Science and any other Science subject.
- (viii) UNN requires Agricultural Science /Biology, Chemistry and any of Economics, Geography, Government; any trade between Animal Husbandry and Fishery.
- (ix) ABU requires Use of English, Chemistry, Biology/ Agric. Science and any other Science Subject.
- (x) MAUTY requires Biology/Agricultural Science and any two (2) of Economics, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
- (xi) IAUED requires English language, Chemistry and two of Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Animal husbandry, Fisheries, Economics, Geography, Book Keeping.
- (xii) MAIDUGURI requires any three (3) subjects from Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Physics, Economics, Geography and Mathematics.
- (xiii) BAYERO requires Biology/Agriculture, Chemistry and any Science subject.
- (xiv) ILORIN requires Biology, Chemistry and any of Physics/ Mathematics or Geography/ Economics.
- (xv) FED-KASHERE requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any one of Physics, Mathematics, Geography or Economics.
O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE AND EDUCATION
Below is the UTME Requirement for Agricultural Science and Education;
- Five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes or equivalents in English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science., Mathematics and another relevant subject.
VIEW SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (WAIVER)
- i. EKSU and CALABAR accept ‘O’ Level pass in Chemistry.
- ii. RSU accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other two (2) subjects from Technical Drawing, Biology/ Agric Science.
- iii. MAKURDI requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in Agricultural Science and either Biology or Physics.
- iv. IMSU accepts D7 in English Language and ‘O’ Level credit pass in Chemistry.
- v. DELSU accepts SSC ‘O’ Level or its equivalent credit passes in at least five (5) subjects, which must include Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Language.
- vi. BOWEN and BENIN require five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science.
- vii. MAKURDI and MAIDUGURI require five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Agricultural Science.
- viii. TASUED requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one sitting or six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at two (2) sittings to include English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and any one (1) or two (2) of Geography/Physics, Physics and Economics.
- ix. EDOMOK and UNN require ‘O’ Level credit passes in Agricultural Science or Biology plus ‘O’ Level pass in Chemistry in addition to UNN requirements.
- x. UYO requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credits or equivalent, including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any two (2) of Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics and Geography.
- xi. ABSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Biology and any other subject.
- xii. UMUDIKE requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Agric. Science, Chemistry and any other relevant subject.
- xiii. NDU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural and any two (2) Science subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
- xiv. IAUED requires five (5) Credit passes in WASC/NECO/ GCE in English Language, Mathematics, and any three of Agricultural Science/Biology Chemistry, Physics, Animal husbandry, Fisheries, Economics.
- xv. BAUCHI requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Arithmetic, Biology, Agricultural Science, Chemistry or General Science and any two (2) subjects. It accepts credit pass in Arithmetic, or General Science or Technical Trades in lieu of Mathematics, or Biology or Physics respectively.
- xvi. BAYERO requires five (5) SSCE credit passes to include; English language, Mathematics, Biology/Agriculture and Chemistry.
- xvii. ILORIN accepts Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics Agricultural science/Biology, Chemistry and Physics or other science related subjects.
- xviii. ABU requires Five ‘O’ level Credit Passes including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology or Agric. Science, Integrated Science/General Science, Geography.
- xix. FED-KASHERE requires Five credit passes at SSCE in English, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and Physics.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE AND EDUCATION
Below is the DIRECT ENTRY (DE) Requirement for Agricultural Science and Education;
- Two (2) passes at ‘A’ level in Biology/Zoology /Botany and any other Science subject.
- NCE merit in Biology and any other Science subject.
- NCE merit in Agriculture (Double Major).
VIEW SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (WAIVER)
- (i) DELSU accepts NCE merit pass in Agricultural Science, ‘A’ Level passes in two (2) of the following Agricultural Science/Biology and Chemistry or OND Agricultural Science.
- (ii) BENIN requires two (2) or three (3) merit in NCE to include Agricultural Science plus three (3) ‘O’ Level passes in English Language, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science.
- (iii) MAIDUGURI and EDALV accept NCE with the UTME requirements.
- (iv) AAU as in B.Sc. Agriculture.
- (v) IAUED accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Geography/Physics, Agricultural Science with four (4) ‘O’ Level credit passes in relevant subjects.
- (vi) EDALV and NOCOEN accept NCE Agricultural Science with five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes or HND in Agriculture.
- (v) EKSU accepts a pass in NCE General English as equivalent to ‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language.
- (vi) MAIDUGURI requires ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Physics Biology and Agricultural Science plus UTME requirements.
- (vii) BAUCHI accepts (a) NCE pass with five (5) years teaching experience. (b) ND credit/lower credit, two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes in Biology/Agricultural Science and any other Science subject. (c) Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology /Zoology/Botany/Agricultural Science and any other Science subject.
- (viii) EDOMOK accepts in addition to the UTME requirements, a. NCE merit in Agricultural Science. b. ‘A’ Level passes in any two (2) of the following: Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics and Economics. c. ND credit in Agriculture or Animal Health from any Nigerian School of Agriculture.
- (ix) BOWEN accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes to include Chemistry and any of the following Biology/Botany, Zoology/Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics and Geography/Physics.
- (x) TASUED accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE merit in Chemistry and one (1) of Biology/Botany/Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics, Geography and Geology /Mathematics (Pure and Applied).ND/HND upper credit in Agriculture or Animal Health from recognized institutions.
- (xi) CALABAR accepts a. NCE merit in Agricultural Education or Biology. b. HND pass in any field of Agriculture. c. ND credit in any field of Agriculture. d. ‘A’ Level passes in Agricultural Science and any two (2) Science subjects including Chemistry. e. NCE pass in Agricultural Education or Biology and ‘O’ Level pass in Chemistry. f. NCE pass in Agricultural Education or Biology. Candidates in categories (a) and (b) must fulfill the three (3)’O’ Level credit passes requirement including ‘O’ Level pass in Chemistry.
- (xii) IAUED accepts two (2) passes at the Advanced level or two NCE passes not lower than Merit; one of the merit passes must be in Agricultural science/Biology/Health science/ Animal Husbandry/Fisheries.
- (xiii) NDU – Same as Vocational and Technical Education.
- (xiv) RSU in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements accepts: (a) HND (Lower Credit) in related professions/discipline. (b) OND, ND/ACE (Upper Credit) in related professions/discipline. (c) NCE Technical Education programme with a minimum of Pass. (d) Two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level /HSC passes credit from Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Technical Drawing. (e) Full Technological Certificates of C&G London Institute or Part three Technician’s Certificate with National Technical Teachers Certificate (NTTCF), UCTE from RSU can be substituted for NTTC.
- (xv) UYO requires; a) NCE in relevant subject(s) with an overall merit pass or above. b) Advanced level GCE or Advanced level NABTEB or JUPEB passes in two (2) relevant subjects. c) National Diploma (minimum of lower credit level) in any area related to Agricultural Education.
- (xvi) BAYERO requires; a) A pass at credit level in a relevant Diploma Programme. b) Passes in three major subjects in relevant areas in the NCE. c) Two passes at the IJMB or Cambridge Moderated Schools of Basic Studies Terminal Examinations or International Baccalaureate from a recognized institution.
- (xvii) ILORIN accepts; a) At least two (2) ‘A’ Level Credit passes in Agric. Science, and any other related science subjects (Biology, Chemistry Physics or Geography). (Minimum of 6 points in IJMB or JUPEP is also acceptable) b) NCE (Distinction/ Merit passes) in Education, Agricultural. Plus credit passes in English Language, Agric. Science Mathematics, Chemistry and any other relevant subjects.
- (xviii) ABU accepts NCE with Minimum of ‘C’ grade in Agric. Science. ND in Agric. With Lower Credit/Merit. Two ‘A’ Level/IJMB Passes in Agricultural Science and any of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geography.
- (xix) FED-KASHERE accepts At least two A’ Level credit passes in Chemistry and one of Biology/Botany/ Zoology/Agric. Science, Physics, Geography, Mathematics, Geology, Economics and Health Science.
