JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR APPLIED BIOLOGY

Below is the JAMB/UTME subject requirement for Applied Biology in the Faculty/College of Sciences (UTME CANDIDATES).

English Language(*), Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Mathematics.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

(i) LAGOS requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
(ii) BAUCHI requires Geography and not Mathematics.
(iii) BAYERO requires Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics.
(i) WESLEYUNI requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other Science subject.
(ii) BELLS same as in Microbiology
(vi) COVENANT, EBSU and LAGOS require ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology.
(vii) BAUCHI requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, to form the core course with three (3) other relevant Science subjects from Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Geography.
(viii) BAYERO requires five (5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography or Physics.

O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR APPLIED BIOLOGY

Below is the O’LEVEL/UTME subject requirement for Applied Biology in the Faculty/College of Sciences (UTME CANDIDATES).

Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry and any one (1) of Health Science, Statistics, Physics and Geography.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

WESLEYUNI requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other Science subject.
BELLS same as in Microbiology
COVENANT, EBSU and LAGOS require ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology.
BAUCHI requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, to form the core course with three (3) other relevant Science subjects from Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Geography.
BAYERO requires five (5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography or Physics

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR APPLIED BIOLOGY

Below is the DIRECT ENTRY subject requirement for Applied Biology in the Faculty/College of Sciences (UTME CANDIDATES).

Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Biology and either Chemistry or Physics.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

(i) WESLEYUNI accepts (a) At least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and Chemistry or Physics. (b) NCE and ND upper credit in addition to five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes or its equivalent.
(ii) LAUTECH accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology and Chemistry, or Physics plus the UTME requirements or ND upper credit / HND or NCE credit in related programme may be considered into 200 level.
(iii) BELLS same as in Microbiology.
(iv) RHEMA accepts ND/HND lower credit plus the UTME requirements.
(v) RSU accepts holders of the following qualifications for (a) ND in relevant programmes for admissions to 200 level; (b) HND relevant to the programme for admissions to 300 level.
(vi) EBSU accepts ND/HND upper credit, NCE merit respectively in the relevant programmes.
(vii) LAGOS accepts very good passes in the following three (3) JUPEB/’A’ Level subjects Biology, Chemistry and Physics
(viii) BAUCHI accepts IJMB/’A’ Level passes in Biology, Chemistry and any one (1) of the following three (3) subjects, Mathematics, Physics or Agricultural Science. ND lower credit in the following programmes: Science Laboratory Technology, Forestry or Agriculture and Food Science Technology. The candidate must also have the five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and Physics or Geography.
(ix) BAYERO accepts a) two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one from Biology, Zoology or Botany. b) IJMB. c) NCE – Minimum of B grade in the relevant subject combination, minus Education in all programmes in the faculty of Life Sciences.
