In JAMB, what is the meaning of Special Consideration (Waiver)??
It means, additional requirement for a particular course in a particular school. If your school have a special consideration for either O’level Requirement, UTME Subject Combination or Direct Entry Requirement, then please take note of it.
Note sometimes in special consideration column, the school requirement might be slight different from the general requirement. We advice you know your desired school’s special consideration for your course. ITS NECESSARY else you might be denied admission.
Below is the UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for GERMAN in faculty of Arts and Humanities.
English Language, French and any two (2) other Arts/Social Science Subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
(i) IBADAN requires Literature in English plus one Arts subject and any other Arts or Social Science subject.
(ii) LAGOS requires English Language and any three Arts or Social Sciences.
(iii) UNN requires any three (3) subjects.
O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR GERMAN
Below is the UTME Requirement for GERMAN in faculty of Arts and Humanities;
Five (5) SSC credit passes to include French, English Language and any three (3) other subjects.
VIEW SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (WAIVER)
(i) ‘O’ Level pass in English Language is accepted for candidates with distinction in French (except OAU).
(ii) Candidates with no previous knowledge of the Language may be admitted.
(iii) IBADAN accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes in Literature in English and other Arts and Social Science subjects.
(iv) LAGOS requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three Arts or Social Sciences. Civic Education and Computer Studies are also accepted.
(v) OAU – ‘O’ Level credit pass in German is not compulsory.
(vi) UNN requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language and four (4) other subjects. History or Literature in English will be an advantage.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR GERMAN
Below is the Direct Entry Requirement for GERMAN in faculty of Arts and Humanities;
Two (2) ‘A’ level passes including the Foreign Language(s) where applicable.
VIEW SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (WAIVER)
(i) LAGOS accepts Very good passes in JUPEB/A’ Level subjects: Any three of French, Igbo/Yoruba, CRS/IRS, History, Government, Literature-in-English, Music and Fine Arts.
(ii) OAU – the programme includes one year at the French Village, Badagry (for French candidates), Germany (for German candidates) and Brazil (for Portuguese candidates).
(iii) UNN accepts: a) NCE merit in relevant subjects as well as UTME requirements. b) Two (2) GCE ‘A’ level passes or its equivalent and three (3) other ‘O’ Level credit passes.
