In JAMB, what is the meaning of Special Consideration (Waiver)??

It means, additional requirement for a particular course in a particular school. If your school have a special consideration for either O’level Requirement, UTME Subject Combination or Direct Entry Requirement, then please take note of it.

Note sometimes in special consideration column, the school requirement might be slight different from the general requirement. We advice you know your desired school’s special consideration for your course. ITS NECESSARY else you might be denied admission.

UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING

Below is the UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for Urban and Regional Planning in faculty of Engineering/Environment/Technology;

  • English Language(*), Mathematics, Geography and one of Economics, Physics, Chemistry.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

  • (i) CUAB requires Mathematics, Physics and any of Chemistry/Biology/ Geography.
  • (ii) ESUTECH requires Mathematics, Biology/Geography and any other one (1) of Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Government or Agricultural Science.
  • (iii) FUTA requires Mathematics and any two from Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Geography.
  • (iv) FUTO requires Mathematics, Geography and any of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Technical Drawing and Fine Arts.
  • (v) JOS accepts any one of Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Economics and Biology as the third subject.
  • (vi) LAGOS accepts English Language, Mathematics, Geography/Economics and any one of Chemistry, physics, Biology, Fine Arts.
  • (vii) LAUTECH accepts Geography and two (2) of Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Government, Biology and Agricultural Science.
  • (viii) MAUTY requires Geography and any two (2) of Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Agric. Science, Mathematics, Economics
  • (ix) OAU requires Economics in addition to Mathematics.
  • (x) OOU accepts Mathematics or Geography. Requires any three (3) of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Arts of Economics.
  • (xi) UNIOSUN requires Mathematics and any two (2) subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Geography.
  • (xii) UNN requires Mathematics and any two (2) subjects of Economics, Government, Geography, Fine arts, Physics, Chemistry, Biology Agricultural Science.
  • (xiii) CARITAS requires Physics, Chemistry and one of Government, Geography, Economics.
  • (xiv) RSU requires Mathematics, Geography and any other subject from Physics. Chemistry, Biology, Fine Art, Technical Drawing and Government.
  • (xv) ABU accepts Mathematics, Geography with any other subject.
  • (xvi) BELLS requires English Language and any other three subjects from Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Government, Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science/Biology, Technical Drawings and Fine Art

O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING

Below is the UTME Requirement for Urban and Regional Planning in faculty of Engineering/Environment/Technology;

  • Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Government, Biology, Art, History, IRK/CRK, Social Studies and Tech Drawing.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

  • (i) ABSU does not insist on Geography. It requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Economics plus the UTME requirements.
  • (ii) ABU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any other two (2) from Economics, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Chemistry and Biology.
  • (iii) BELLS requires Five (5) SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and/or Economics and any two subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Government, Technical Drawing, Agricultural Science/Biology and Fine Arts.
  • (iv) BSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Government, Biology, Art, History, IS/CRS, Social Studies, Technical Drawing and Geography.
  • (v) CUAB requires two (2) other subjects from Science or the Social Sciences.
  • (vi) ESUTECH accepts credit passes in Fine Arts and Surveying
  • (vii) FUTA requires five (5) SSC credit passes or its equivalent at a maximum of two (2) sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two subjects from Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science, Economics, Technical Drawing. At least a pass in Physics is required.
  • (viii) FUTO requires at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, Physics and any one of Biology, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Chemistry and Economics in not more than two (2) sittings.
  • (ix) JOS requires two (2) other ‘O’ Level credit passes in Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology, Fine Art and Technical Drawing.
  • (xi) LAGOS requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two of Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, and Fine Arts/Technical Drawing.
  • (xii) LAUTECH accepts Agricultural Science as sciences.
  • (xiii) MAUTY requires Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two from Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Sci., Technical Drawing, Economics, Fine Art, Visual Arts.
  • (xiv) MINNA and ABSU require five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two (2) subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Economics and Government.
  • (xv) OAU requires English Language, Mathematics, Geography, Economics and any other from Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts/Government.
  • (xvi) RENAISSANCE requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography/Technical Drawing at not more than two (2) sittings.
  • (xvii) UNIOSUN require two (2) subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Economics, Biology and Surveying.
  • (xviii) IMSU and ESUTECH do not accept IS, CRS, History and Social Studies.
  • (xix) UNN requires (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, and any other three (3) subjects from Economics, Government, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry, Agric Science, and Biology.
  • (xx) UYO requires ’O’ Level credit pass in Mathematics.
  • (xxi) CARITAS requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes or equivalents to include English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) from Geography, Physics, Biology, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Surveying, Economics and Government.
  • (xxii) JABU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any other two (2) subjects plus ND upper credit level.
  • (xxiii) RSU five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any other two (2) subjects from Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Fine Art, Technical Drawing and Government.
  • (xxiv) CARITAS requires Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) of the following: Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Economics and Government.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING

Below is the DIRECT ENTRY (DE) Requirement for Urban and Regional Planning in faculty of Engineering/Environment/Technology;

  • Two (2) A’ LEVEL passes in Geography and Mathematics.
  • ND/HND upper credit in Town Planning or related programmes plus UTME requirements are accepted.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

  • (i) ABSU accepts ND in Town Planning Architecture, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Surveying and Estate Management.
  • (ii) ABU requires a) ‘A’ Level /IJMB passes in Geography and one of Economics/Mathematics. b) ND upper credit in Urban and Regional Planning or related Environmental Sciences from accredited institutions. c) HND lower credit in URP or related Environmental Sciences.
  • (iii) BELLS accepts Two (2) A LEVEL passes in Geography and Mathematics. ND/HND upper credit in Town Planning or related programmes plus UTME requirements are accepted.
  • (iv) CUAB accepts a) ‘A’ Level/IJMB relevant subjects are acceptable. b) ND/HND lower credit in Urban and Regional Planning or allied programmes may be admitted to the appropriate level.
  • (v) FUTA accepts a) GCE ‘A’ Level passes in Cambridge International Examination (CIE), Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) examination, Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) examination or its equivalent in at least two (2) of the following: Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Physics and Chemistry; at minimum of Credit passes. b) ND at Upper Credit in Town Planning and related subjects.
  • (vi) FUTO requires a) At least three ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Mathematics, Geography and one of Physics or Chemistry. b) ND/HND at Upper Credit level in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Geology, Environmental Sciences or Engineering. c) First Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Geology, Environmental Sciences or Engineering. d) Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects namely Mathematics, Geography and any of Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Economics, Technical Drawing and Fine Arts. It does not accept NCE. Candidates must in addition meet the ‘O’ Level requirements.
  • (vii) ILORIN accepts HND lower credit in Urban and Regional Planning for admission into 200 Level, provided the candidate has at least ND lower credit.
  • (ix) JABU accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any other two (2) subjects plus ND upper credit.
  • (x) JOS accepts a) ND in Town Planning, Land Surveying, Building, Architecture, Estate Management, and Quantity Survey. b) at least two (2) passes at the GCE ‘A’ Level, HSC or IJMB, one of which must be in Geography.
  • (x) KUST accepts a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Geography and Mathematics. b) points at IJMB in Geography, Mathematics, and any of Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Biology. c) ND upper credit in Town Planning or related programme.
  • (xi) LAGOS accepts Very good passes in JUPEB/A’ Level subjects: Mathematics, Geography and any one of Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Economics. HND/ND (Distinction) in Urban and Regional Planning in 300/200 Level.
  • (xii) LAUTECH accepts ‘A’ Level passes ND/HND upper credit in related programmes plus the UTME requirements for admission into 200 level.
  • (xiii) MAUTY accepts; a) IJMB/Two `A’ level credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, Geography or other relevant subject. b) OND/HND in URP, Urban Design, Architecture, Building, Civil Engineering, Geography, Survey & Geoinformatics or any other relevant field at lower credit level.
  • (xiv) OAU accepts three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, Geography and any subject from Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Technical Drawing/Fine Arts.
  • (xv) OAU accepts HND upper credit in programme relevant to Environmental Design and Management with at least NOT less than 60% in any subject offered.
  • (xxvi) OAU accepts ND/HND upper credit in Town Planning or related programmes
  • (xxvii) RSU in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements accepts: (a) HND (Lower Credit) in relevant discipline. (b) OND/ND (Upper Credit) in relevant discipline. (c) At least two (2) passes at GCE ‘A’ Level including Geography.
  • (xxviii) ABU accepts ND lower credit plus UTME requirements.
  • (xxix) BAUCHI and MINNA accept ND/HND upper/lower credit in relevant programmes in addition to UTME requirements
  • (xxx) UNIOSUN accepts the following qualifications into Part II of the programme. Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in addition to the following requirements: a) ‘A’ Level passes at one sitting in Mathematics and Geography and any of Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technical Drawing, Economics and Fine Arts. b) ND lower credit in Town Planning, Survey and Urban and regional Planning.
  • (xx) UNN accepts a) ND upper credit in Town Planning or its equivalent plus UTME requirements. b) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, and any two (2) of Geography, Economics, Government, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in addition to UTME requirements.
  • (xxi) CARITAS requires a) Bachelor’s Degree in one (1) of Town Planning, Land Surveying, Building, Architecture, Estate Management and Quantity Surveying. b) NCE/ND/HND Lower credit in one (1) of Town Planning, Land Surveying, Building, Architecture, Estate Management and Quantity Surveying. c) GCE A’ Level/IJMB/JUPEB Passes in Mathematics or Physics plus one of the following: Economics, Geography, Biology, Technical Drawing and Fine Arts.
