Cursory: Nigerian students from Chrisland School, received the prestigious British Council Outstanding Cambridge Learner’s Awards for their exceptional performance in the 2022 Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level Examinations.

Two Nigerian adolescents have brought honor to their nation by achieving remarkable success in the 2022 Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge AS Level Examinations, leading them to secure the prestigious British Council Outstanding Cambridge Learner’s Awards.
Oluwabukolami Adeyemi and Mmesomachukwu Okonkwo, both enrolled at Chrisland School, have emerged as top performers among the global pool of candidates who participated in these examinations.
Adeyemi, who achieved A1 grades in all nine subjects she registered for in the IGCSE exam, attributed her achievement to her strong passion for learning and her aspiration to contribute positively to the world.
Speaking to Tribuneonline, Oluwabukolami Adeyemi revealed that prior to the exam, “I have never done any other Cambridge exams” and she rather found the experience of preparing so it was “quite strange to” her and as she delved into her studies throughout July and August, she engaged in practices like reviewing past questions, dissecting the math curriculum, and extensively studying textbooks.
“August, I was in school preparing for exams, I had to do past questions, analyse the maths scheme and read a lot of textbooks.”
Despite the challenges of working while others were on vacation, her dedicated efforts and sacrifices combined effectively to yield positive results.
“I put in a lot of hard work and sacrifice as I couldn’t do a lot of what I was doing when everyone was on holiday, but I think everything just worked together for my good.”
She credited her achievement to the unwavering support of God, her parents, educators, and companions who stood by her side during her educational odyssey.
On the other hand, Okonkwo, who earned A1 grades in all four subjects he undertook in the AS Level assessment, expressed that his fascination and enthusiasm for science and technology served as his inspiration.
He extended his gratitude to God, his parents, teachers, and mentors who provided guidance along his path.
The British Council Outstanding Cambridge Learner’s Awards constitute a collection of accolades presented by Cambridge Assessment International Education, acknowledging remarkable academic accomplishments of learners worldwide in Cambridge examinations.
