Four students of Delta State University (DELSU) and five others abducted on Saturday have regained their freedom.

Reports have it that around 9 persons were abducted on Saturday along the Abraka-Eku Road in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
However, they have all been released from the abductees as confirmed by DSP Bright Edafe, the Spokesman of the Delta State Police Command in Warri on Wednesday.
“They have all been released. They were released I think late Tuesday or early Wednesday
“The kidnappers realized that the police were closing in on them.’’ the spokesman said.
It was also reported that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom to the tune of N5m to set the nine victims free.
The Students Union Government (SUG) of Delta State University (DELSU) condemned the abduction as contained in a statement released on Tuesday.
They had expressed concerns saying that the state government and security agencies are not doing anything to stop the recurring attacks on students and citizens on the Eku-Abraka expressway.
The insecurity issue in the country is at its peak in recent times, the security agencies are called upon to step up their activities and ensure maximum peace and order across the country most especially as the festive season draws near.
Moreso, individuals too should contribute to improving the security situation by giving necessary and sensitive information to security agencies where needed. If you see something, say something.
