LASU Graduate Shines Among Nigeria’s Top Law School Performers

Silifat Owodina rose from self-doubt to national excellence, ranking in the top 3.6% of Nigeria’s Law School Bar Exams through relentless hard work, faith, and fearless determination.

In a powerful story of courage, discipline, and sheer determination, Silifat Owodina has emerged as one of the top-performing candidates in the 2024 Nigerian Law School Bar Final Examinations—placing among the top 3.6% of over 7,000 students nationwide.

Her journey began in 2017 when she gained admission to Lagos State University (LASU) to study law. With a strong work ethic, she graduated with a Second Class Upper, ranking in the top 8% of her class, all while immersing herself in legal development programs and student leadership.

But the true test came at the Nigerian Law School—one of the most challenging chapters for any aspiring lawyer in the country. “There were tears,” she recalls. “But I pushed through with faith, discipline, and sleepless nights.” Her perseverance paid off: Silifat ranked 120th out of 7,134 students, a testament to her consistency and tenacity.

Now officially called to the Bar, Silifat describes her transformation as going “from fear to fierce,” a mantra that sums up her inspiring growth journey. Her story is a rallying cry to young dreamers everywhere: “What if your success lies in the thing you’re afraid to start?”

Looking ahead, she’s eager to channel her grit and legal insight into impactful roles. “I’m ready to add value, contribute meaningfully, and continue learning,” she shared.
