Maduka University has been awarded full accreditation status by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for seven of its undergraduate programmes, following the commission’s October/November 2025 accreditation exercise conducted across Nigerian universities.

The accreditation confirms that the affected programmes meet the Commission’s minimum academic standards in curriculum delivery, staffing, infrastructure, learning resources, and overall quality assurance.
The result was formally communicated in a letter dated 7th April 2026, addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of Maduka University and signed by Engr. Abraham Chundusu, Director of Accreditation, for the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu.

The Commission, acting under the powers conferred on it by Section 10(1) of the Education (National Minimum Standard and Establishment of Institutions) Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, reviewed the following programmes at Maduka University and awarded each full accreditation status:
- Accounting
- Computer Science
- Cyber Security
- Economics
- International Relations
- Mass Communication
- Software Engineering
According to NUC guidelines, full accreditation status for undergraduate programmes is valid for a period of five years, after which affected programmes will be due for re-accreditation. This serves as a strong endorsement of the university’s academic standards and continuous investment in quality teaching, research, innovation, and student development.
Vice-Chancellor Receives Notification
The letter of accreditation was received on behalf of the university by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Ogbulogo, who described the outcome as a reflection of the institution’s commitment to academic quality and regulatory compliance since its establishment in 2023.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the result affirms the adequacy of the university’s curriculum, staffing, physical facilities, and library resources across all reviewed disciplines and reassured students, parents, and staff of the university’s continued commitment to meeting and exceeding national academic standards.
Why This Matters to Prospective Students
For students and parents searching for a university that combines academic excellence with recognised qualifications, accreditation is one of the most important factors to consider.
An NUC-accredited programme means that:
- Your degree is nationally recognised.
- You are eligible for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), subject to applicable regulations.
- Employers and postgraduate institutions can confidently recognise your qualification.
- You benefit from an education that meets nationally approved academic benchmarks.
As competition in higher education continues to increase, choosing an accredited university provides confidence that your academic investment is secure.
A Commitment Beyond Accreditation
While accreditation is an important achievement, Maduka University views it as part of a broader mission to provide transformative education.
The university continues to strengthen its academic offerings through modern learning facilities, experienced faculty, technology-driven teaching, industry-focused programmes, and an environment that nurtures innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
This latest achievement further positions Maduka University among Nigeria’s growing institutions committed to delivering quality education that prepares graduates for success both nationally and globally.
