President of Association Of University Union, ASUU, Biodun Ogunremi has disclosed in a recent interview that his own children are also back home due to the union strike.
The president who spoke to Punch Newspaper said Nigeria parents should stop being desperate to get their children in school at all costs but rather fight the government to fund university education.
He said “So, people should not just be saying, our children must be in school at all costs. As I speak with you, I have children in the universities who are back in my house. So, people should not be talking as if they are the only people who have children. It is a painful decision going on strike.

The president also said before the union embark on any strike “we would have done in-depth analysis and because of our patriotic zeal, that is only thing we owe this country as a legacy. If they have conquered primary and secondary teachers, we must never allow them to conquer us. If it remains one lecturer in the university, we will fight”
You will recall that the Union embark on a two weeks warning strike to press home their demands on issues bordering on Memorandum Of Action 2019 and the maiden Integrated Personnel Payroll System IPPS introduced by the federal government.
