National Youth Service Corps members with SERVICOM Community Development Service in Katsina State have refurbished 60 broken chairs and desks for use by the pupils of Hassan Usman Katsina Model Science Primary School in the state capital.

Speaking at the commissioning of the refurbished furniture, president of the group, SuleIsah Enemi, said the decision was due to the learning environment in the school.
According to him, most of the pupils sit on the floor in their various classes, while others stand during lessons.
He said that lessons under such situations were becoming impossible for pupils to comprehend what they are taught.
He added that in addition, they procured 10 cartons of white chalk, five packets of white board markers and other teaching materials to ensure a better learning environment for the pupils of the school.
