NYSC Corps Members Rebuilds 60 Desks/Chairs for School Pupils In Katsina

National Youth Service Corps members with SERVICOM Community Development Service in Katsina State have refur­bished 60 broken chairs and desks for use by the pupils of Hassan Usman Katsina Model Science Primary School in the state capital.

Speaking at the com­missioning of the re­furbished furniture, president of the group, SuleIsah Enemi, said the decision was due to the learning environment in the school.

According to him, most of the pupils sit on the floor in their vari­ous classes, while others stand during lessons.

He said that lessons un­der such situations were becoming impossible for pupils to comprehend what they are taught.

He added that in addi­tion, they procured 10 car­tons of white chalk, five packets of white board markers and other teach­ing materials to ensure a better learning environ­ment for the pupils of the school.
