Olaniyi Mubaraq Olawale has achieved a significant milestone at Lagos State University (LASU), emerging as the top graduating student in Accounting Education with an impressive 4.98 CGPA.
This achievement was announced on Thursday, May 30, during LASU’s 27th convocation ceremony in Lagos State.
The institution confirmed Olawale’s accomplishment on its website and Twitter, highlighting his exceptional academic performance.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, lauded his achievement, referring to it as “peerless.”
Additionally, the convocation ceremony saw 153 out of 8,670 students graduate with first-class honors.
Prof. Olatunji-Bello also mentioned that 98 students earned doctoral degrees. Among the master’s graduates, Olaitan Aminat Damilola stood out as the best with a CGPA of 4.78 in Educational Management.
The Vice Chancellor noted that among the 8,670 first-degree graduates, 3,029 achieved second-class upper division, 715 secured second-class lower division, 228 received a pass, and 195 were awarded non-classified degrees.
Furthermore, 2,164 postgraduate students graduated, including 375 with postgraduate diplomas, 962 with academic master’s degrees, 672 with professional master’s degrees, and 89 with Doctor of Philosophy degrees.
In a related report, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), announced that her son, David, was named the overall best student for the 2021/2023 academic session, with the university producing 340 first-class graduates across various faculties.
