OOU Notice on Good Friday and Easter Monday Break.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Friday, 3rd and Monday, 6th April, 2026 as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Easter Celebration.
In light of this, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ayodeji Agboola, has congratulated members of the University Community, particularly the Christians, for witnessing this year’s celebration.
He enjoined staff and students to emulate the exemplary attributes of Jesus Christ, including forgiveness, humility, love and sacrifice.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that the celebration offers an ample opportunity for promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence among members of the University Community.
He, therefore, advised staff to continue to contribute their quota to the development and progress of the University.
To enable members of the University Community to observe the public holidays, the Vice-Chancellor has directed that the University be temporarily closed from Friday, 3rd to 6th April, 2026.
However, staff on essential duties are expected to be at their respective duty posts while work resumes on Tuesday, 7th April, 2026 at 8:00am.
