Pastor Spends 246million on Graduates, Rewards 492 First-Class Graduates with N500k Cash Prizes

At MFM’s 35th-anniversary celebration, General Overseer Prof. Daniel Olukoya honored 492 first-class graduates with cash awards, highlighting the church’s commitment to academic excellence and youth empowerment.

On Sunday, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Worldwide, Prof. Daniel Olukoya, honored over 492 members of the church who graduated with first-class honors from various universities with cash awards.

The award ceremony was the highlight of the church’s 35th-anniversary celebrations and international convention, held at the Prayer City on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Under the “Dr. D.K. Olukoya’s Academic Award of Excellence,” this year’s event saw the highest number of beneficiaries since the award’s inception in 2010.

Olukoya explained that the initiative, part of his 70-point agenda focused on youth empowerment, initially offered car gifts to the first class graduates. However, as the number of recipients grew, the program shifted to awarding cash prizes.

In the first edition, 19 recipients received car gifts. The second edition saw 15 recipients awarded brand new QQ3 and QQ6 cars along with certificates of honor.

By the third edition, the number of first-class graduates had risen to 77, prompting a change to a cash prize of N500,000 and a certificate of honor for each recipient. The fourth edition saw the number increase further to 106, with the same cash and certificate awards.

At the most recent ceremony, Olukoya’s wife, Pastor Shade, along with Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Dapo Abiodun, and Sheriff Oborevwori of Lagos, Ogun, and Delta, respectively, assisted in presenting the awards.

Olukoya encouraged the youth to continue striving for academic excellence, proudly noting that MFM produces the highest number of first-class graduates annually among churches.

The convention, which began on Friday, August 16, attracted hundreds of thousands of worshippers to the venue, with millions more participating through various online platforms. The event featured a series of lectures by anointed men of God.
