SAZU Council appoints Acting Bursar, Promotes Professors and Senior Staff

The Governing Council of Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), Bauchi, under the leadership of Professor Gambo Laraba Abdullahi, has approved key appointments and promotions aimed at strengthening the academic and administrative profile of the institution.

At its 28th Regular Meeting held on 27th and 28th August, 2025, the Council appointed Malam Ibrahim Abdullahi as Acting Bursar of the University, with effect from 28th August, 2025.

The Council also confirmed the promotion of eight academic staff, three of whom have risen to the rank of Professor, while five were elevated to the rank of Reader.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿:

• Prof. Isyaku Abdullahi – Health Education
• Prof. Salisu A. Garba – Public Law
• Prof. Haladu A. Gagman – Parasitology

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿:

• Dr. Ibrahim Danjuma – Public Law
• Dr. Shamsuddeen Magaji – Public Law
• Dr. Kabiru I. Karamba – Environmental Microbiology
• Dr. Awwal Hussain Nuhu – Analytical Chemistry
• Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Aliyu – Applied Linguistics

𝗢𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳:

• Hajiya Munira Sagir to Deputy Registrar
• Mr. Labaran Ibrahim to Deputy Bursar

All promotions take effect from 1st October, 2024.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Fatimah Tahir congratulated the newly appointed and promoted staff, noting that the decisions of Council reflect the University’s commitment to merit, excellence, and institutional growth.
