The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, has explained why payment is delayed for some cooks under the National Homegrown School Feeding Programme.

The delay according to the Ministry was due to a change in payment platform.
The Minister, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq said the complaint of delayed payment arose because the ministry migrated the payment process from Remita to the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS).
GIFMIS is an IT-based system implemented by the federal government to enhance accountability and transparency in public financial management.
