6 Intelligent Kids Set to Represent Africa’s Giant at a World Microsoft Championship

Cursory: Six exceptional students from different schools will represent Africa’s Giant, Nigeria at the 2023 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship which will hold in Orlando, Florida, United States.

In an exciting development, Africa’s Giant, Nigeria will be represented by six students from different schools at the upcoming 2023 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC).

The MOSWC competition scheduled is an annual event contested by students from over 150 countries.

This year’s edition will be held at Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida, USA, spanning from July 30 to August 2, 2023.

“It is globally recognised and gives certified users the opportunity to apply for jobs anywhere in the World. MOS certification also provides a solid foundation for advanced ICT training and certified users will be able to pursue training in advanced computer technologies,” Edna Agusto, founder of the organizers told BusinessDay.

The talented students representing Nigeria at the championship include:

  1. Fenna Nwokeji from Aduvie International School in Abuja, FCT;
  2. Victor Omoyajowo from Faith Academy in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State;
  3. Adesuwa Igbinedion from Faith Academy in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State;
  4. Daniel Uzugbo from Faith Academy in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State;
  5. Aderinsola Adeegbe from Faith Academy in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State; and
  6. Bolurinwa Fabuyi from City of Knowledge Academy in IjebuOde, Ogun State.

Giving the details of the students, Edna Agusto, founder of the organizers of the Nigerian Microsoft Competition, ReadManna Empowerment Initiative, said Fenna Nwokeji is an Excel 2019 winner from Aduvie International School, Abuja who scored 1,000/1,000 at the competition; Victor Omoyajowo, a Word 2019 winner is from Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota in Ogun State scored 976/1,000; Adesuwa Igbinedion, a PowerPoint 2019 winner is from Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State scored 1,000/1,000.

Others are Daniel Uzugbo, an Excel 2016 winner from Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State scored 980/1,000; Aderinsola Adeegbe, a Word 2016 winner, Faith Academy, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State scored 1,000/1,000; Bolurinwa Fabuyi, a PowerPoint 2016 winner, from City of Knowledge Academy, IjebuOde, Ogun State scored 925/1,000.

Edna also added that Nigeria has come 2nd and 3rd in the World Championship in the past 14 years and had finished in the top 10 places nearly every year.
