Student Raises Alarm Over Lack of Electricity and Water at Veritas University Despite High Tuition Fees

A student of Veritas University sparked online outrage after revealing that despite paying up to ₦1.9 million in tuition, students still lack basic amenities like electricity and water.

A student of Veritas University has publicly complained about the poor living conditions in the school, despite the high tuition fees paid by students. In a video that has gone viral online, the student revealed that he pays about ₦1.9 million for his course, while some other programmes cost up to ₦3 million.

According to him, students are currently facing serious challenges due to the lack of basic amenities such as electricity and water. He stated that there has been no water supply for several days, and the absence of power has made life difficult for students in the institution.

The student further pointed out that the school has a population of over 7,000 students, questioning how such a large amount of money generated from fees is not being used to provide essential services. He expressed frustration over the situation, noting that many students have had to find alternative ways to access water and electricity.

He also criticized the silence of the school management, urging the authorities to take responsibility and improve the welfare of students. He stressed that paying such high fees should guarantee access to basic facilities.

The video has since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians condemning the situation and calling on private universities to justify the high cost of their tuition by providing adequate infrastructure. While some users suggested withholding fees until improvements are made, others expressed sympathy for the affected students.
