A Nigerian university invigilator overheard students planning to cheat on an exam while on a bus, unknowingly sitting next to them, and vowed to expose them during the test.

A Nigerian university invigilator has shared a surprising story on social media after overhearing students discussing their plan to cheat during an upcoming exam—without realizing he was sitting right next to them on a bus.
The invigilator, who posted about the incident on X (formerly Twitter), revealed that he was on the same bus as the students. As they talked about how they would exchange answers during the exam, they had no idea that a lecturer was in close proximity.
Describing the situation, he wrote:
“These students I’m sitting beside are strategizing on how to sit and pass answers in the examination hall 😂.”
“Unfortunately, I’m one of their invigilators for the exam this afternoon 😂.”
Determined to thwart their plans, he added:
“I can’t wait to scatter their formation during the exam. They thought I was an undergraduate like them. I’ve marked their faces. Also, they’ve been badmouthing their lecturers without restraint.”
The post quickly gained attention online, with many users reacting to the story. Some found it humorous, while others condemned the students’ actions.
Here are some reactions:
@IsoloShoemaker: “Split them far away from one another. Ẹ̀mí wọn a fẹ gbon.”
@CrownclemJohn: “Lol, I love academic environments for the fact that you may not know who is who.”
@ghaneeyat_too: “The shock when they see you inside the exam hall as one of their invigilators. Kai!”
@Shukroh_: “Please don’t scatter their formation oo.”
@RofiatOlapade: “Only if they knew what’s coming for them 🤣 What if you couldn’t recollect their faces?”
