Teachers and students narrowly escaped death after a four-storey school building suddenly collapsed shortly after they evacuated the premises in Lagos.

A tragic incident was narrowly avoided on Monday after a four-storey school building collapsed in the Ogba area of Lagos, shortly after students and teachers had evacuated the structure.
The building, located at 11 Adudatu Street behind County Hospital in the Aguda area of Ogba, reportedly gave way around noon, less than three minutes after everyone inside had been safely moved out.
According to reports, both students and staff had just left the premises when the structure suddenly caved in, preventing what could have been a major disaster.
The exact cause of the collapse has not yet been confirmed as of the time the report was filed. However, incidents of building collapse have become increasingly common in Lagos in recent times.
Authorities are expected to investigate the situation to determine what led to the incident.
