Three members of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) earned master’s degrees from Lagos State University, drawing praise and surprise online for their academic achievement.

Three members of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) have graduated with master’s degrees from Lagos State University (LASU), sparking admiration and conversation across social media.
Identified as Lolade Weath Lagwan, Nurudin Mudashiru Eniafe, and Macarthy Olatunji Alade, the trio were part of the 2023/2024 graduating class and received their degrees during LASU’s 28th convocation ceremony.
Photos of the graduates shared by RTEAN on Facebook quickly gained traction, with many users expressing surprise and pride, as several commenters assumed the men were commercial drivers—a claim not independently verified.
While some praised the men’s determination to pursue higher education despite their association with the transport union, others called for more enlightenment and educational opportunities within the ranks of RTEAN.
Facebook user reactions included:
• Toyin Oladipupo: “If all these ones are learned, then who are those agberos we still have outside with no composure? Let more enlightenment go round.”
• Aiyepola Abayomi: “Give it to RTEAN. Many of their members have strong academic backgrounds. This is commendable.”
• Daniel Tagbe: “Congrats to Eniafe! We served together in Katsina and he was our CLO then. I’m proud.”
The achievement of these three RTEAN members stands as a testament to the power of personal growth and lifelong learning, regardless of profession or background.
