Twin Brothers Graduate Top of U.S. High School Class, Earn Scholarships to University

Twin brothers Deontae and Deontrae Wright graduated as Valedictorian and Salutatorian of their Ohio high school with top GPAs, earning full scholarships to The Ohio State University, where they plan to study Electrical Engineering and eventually start their own firm.

Twin brothers Deontae and Deontrae Wright have emerged as the top graduating students of Scott High School in Ohio, USA — earning them full scholarships to attend The Ohio State University.

With an outstanding 4.5 GPA, Deontae was named Valedictorian of the class of 2019, while Deontrae followed closely with a 4.4 GPA, earning the title of Salutatorian.

How They Did It

The Wright twins credit their academic achievements to a supportive, competitive dynamic between them.

“We both like to compete against each other. We want to score higher than each other,” — Deontrae Wright

Teachers described their journey as a close academic race, with both brothers consistently challenging one another to improve. Their dedication paid off not only in top honors but in life-changing scholarship offers.

Beyond Academics

Despite their demanding schoolwork, the twins managed to:

  • Hold down two part-time jobs
  • Complete over 70 hours of community service
  • Stay actively involved in school and community leadership

“Me giving back is a way I can not only feel good as a person but also help change the community,” — Deontae Wright

What’s Next

Now studying Electrical Engineering with a minor in Business at The Ohio State University, Deontae and Deontrae plan to launch their own engineering firm in the future.

“It feels awesome knowing that I put in the hard work and got something out of it,” — Deontae Wright
