Cursory: Babcock University in its recent graduation ceremony produced twin first class graduates and also recorded a couple obtaining their PhD in nursing.The university also celebrated the graduation of 2,065 undergraduate students and 415 postgraduate students. Additionally, the university produced its first-ever PhD graduates in Nursing, History, Economics, and Finance.


Ngozi Nancy Philip, a student from the Faculty of Education, graduated as the overall best with a remarkable 4.95 CGPA, while her twin sister, Nnennaya Sylvia Philip, also achieved a First Class with a 4.80 CGPA.
Additionally, Maitanmi Bukola Titilope and Maitanmi Julius Olatade, a couple, obtained their PhDs in Nursing. The university celebrated the graduation of 2,065 undergraduate students and 415 postgraduate students.
During the convocation ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo, praised the institution’s founders for their foresight and dedication to its sustainability.
He highlighted that this year’s graduation was remarkable due to the presence of eminent personalities among the postgraduate graduates, including a High Court Judge, Managing Directors of reputable organizations, Chief Medical Director of a University Teaching Hospital, Provosts of Colleges, and Heads of Departments from various universities.
In his words:
“This year’s graduation is unique in the sense that we have eminent personalities graduating from our postgraduate programmes. We have notable personalities such as a High Court Judge, Managing Directors of reputable organisations, Chief Medical Director of a University Teaching Hospital, Provosts of Colleges and Heads of Departments from various universities graduating today,” he noted.
The Vice-Chancellor also emphasized the uniqueness of the event as the university produced its first-ever PhD graduates in Nursing, History, Economics, and Finance.
Dr. Chris Maiyaki, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, lauded the academics and staff for their dedication to knowledge transfer and nurturing future leaders.
He recognized the university’s significant role in the country’s educational landscape as one of the pioneers among private universities.
