Two teachers in Osun State have been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing students, with one suspect accused of molesting a seven-year-old girl and another charged with forcing a 12-year-old girl into a sexual encounter.
In Osun State, two teachers have been taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the sexual abuse of two pupils.
Kehinde Adeleke, spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State, confirmed the situation in a recent statement.
She reported that “Ahmadan Rufai Akorede, a 22-year-old male teacher, was apprehended for allegedly molesting a seven-year-old female pupil in Ilesa by forcing his genitals into her mouth.”
A detailed investigation revealed that the teacher had started his abusive behavior last year. According to his own admission, he would ask the victim to close all classroom windows after school and then proceed with the abuse.
The suspect has since been brought before the Magistrates’ Court in Ilesa, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded at the correctional facility in Ilesa.
In a related case, another teacher was reported to have inappropriately touched a minor’s body in the classroom after school hours.
Adeleke further disclosed, “Tiamiyu Samuel, a 20-year-old, was arrested for having sexual relations with a 12-year-old girl in Gbongan, Osun State.”
The suspect had previously known the victim for three years and had expressed romantic interest, which she declined. On Sunday, March 23, 2025, around 3:00 PM, the victim passed by Samuel’s house, where he lured her into his room with assistance from an accomplice.
Threatening the victim with a cutlass, he proceeded to sexually assault her. After the incident, the victim experienced bleeding, and Samuel allegedly threatened her life to ensure her silence. The accomplice remains at large but will be pursued for justice.
