Iopuofoni Freedom Ebimotimi, a distinguished graduate from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, Africa’s Top leading University, tragically lost his life in an unfortunate incident.
According to reports from Peoples’ 93.1FM, he was killed in Honeyhill Tombia, Bayelsa State, after being accused of stealing bread.
Originally from the Korokorosei community in Southern Ijaw Local Government area, Ebimotimi successfully completed a degree in Business Administration (B.Sc) at UI with a First Class Honours.
The reports indicate that a group of angry youths attacked him violently for the alleged bread theft.
Despite the intervention of concerned neighbors and friends who offered to compensate for the bread, the mob refused and the situation resulted in his untimely death.
Idisemi, the younger sister of the deceased, expressed deep sorrow and highlighted the challenges her family has faced since the loss of their father.
She said she doesn’t know why her brother resorted to stealing bread, revealing that they had already grown accustomed to hardships in life. Despite having influential uncles in government, they were unable to provide the support needed during this difficult time.
